"Facts matter. To everyone." To people who have committed to peddling lies, facts matter. As an inconvenience, to be ignored and suppressed. Anybody want to offer odds on Eby being moved by these facts to change course? Good luck! ('Honourable' Premier? Dare to dream!)

Dear Michelle, Thank you for your hard work digging up the details and exposing the truth behind this deceitful alleged documentary. I live near Kamloops and have endured this nonsense since the story first broke. Perhaps your open letter needs to be sent to all the opposition parties and all the news offices. Eby is an authoritarian autocrat, who I suspect will unfortunately ignore you. This whole matter is so frustrating as only the National Post will report at a slight level on this topic, and Rebel News, who endure derogatory labels as a result and the masses are sheep. Regards, Norm Thompson.

Damn, this is good, Michelle. Please tell me that this has actually been mailed to David Eby – by good old snail mail, preferably. I know there are probably layers of people screening his mail (and his emails), so I wonder what the chances are that he'll actually see it, and read it?

Sometimes it can be helpful, when writing to government, to ask a question that requires a RESPONSE. The assistants who screen correspondence are more likely to actually bring a letter to the attention of their boss if they see that some kind of action is required and that a boilerplate form letter won't do. (I realize that you've asked a question in your opening paragraph, but it's kind of rhetorical.)

I've just gone through the comment thread following Eby's April 1 Facebook post. FB shows that there were 173 comments logged, but only about 40 remain visible, even when I select for "All Comments" and open all replies in the thread. I wonder what the other 130 people had to say? No doubt there were many horrid and boorish remarks that deserved to be deleted, but surely those 130 commenters weren't ALL ignorant trolls (?)

Thank you Joan. As I’m in Alberta it is unlikely that he would feel obliged to reply. I did send to him and all of his cabinet by email. So far, only auto replies. Other people can continue to advocate for a screening there, using this letter or their own angles - public interest, fair response etc. Thanks for your support! Michelle
